This class is to encourage all young beef handlers to compete for the prestigious title of young stockman/woman RUAS 2016.

RULES AND REGULATIONS
This class will be judged based on the young person's ability to both prepare then show an animal in the show ring.

Competitors will be required to prepare their animal for show at the ringside. Points will be awarded to the handler for dressing the animal according to breed type.

Competitors will then be required to show their animal in the ring. Points will be awarded for presentation, handling and show ring awareness e.g. reacting to steward and judge direction, setting animal in show line etc. Competitors will also be awarded points for knowledge of the animal they are showing including breeding etc.

This class is open to both pedigree and commercial beef breeds, animals must be entered in its respective breed class.

It is expected that the young handler is experienced and familiar with handling the animal in the Show prior to the competition.

Animals may be washed and blow dried in advance, but no other dressing material to be used before tie up at the ringside and judging commences.

No blow dryers are allowed in the preparation area.

No help may be given to the handler in preparing or showing the animal, an adult may only give assistance should a safety matter arise.

Animals 30 months or under on show date, snaffles etc & normal show rules will apply.

Should a dispute arise regarding a competitor's age, appropriate identification will be requested.
