Only horses in possession of a current height or final measurement certificate appropriate to their class may compete in this class. This certificate should be issued by a society or scheme approved by the FEI or issued by a National Federation affiliated to the FEI or a certificate issued by a society or scheme approved by such National Federation, and must be presented with their passport at arrivals. Riders may only ride one horse in this class. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in all scores for this rider, in this class being considered null & void. The order of judging will be by draw and the draw will be printed in the catalogue. COURSE BUILDER: ADRIENNE STUART PHASES OF JUDGING Phase 1 - Jumping All horses will be required to jump a course which will consist of a minimum of eight fences that will have a natural appearance, and not be easily dislodged. The maximum height of fences will be 1m and is at the discretion of the Judges. The way of going will be taken into account - refusals will be severely penalised. First refusal - 15 Second refusal - 20 Third refusal - elimination Jumping knockdown - 10 Fall of horse or rider - elimination. In the interests of safety, competitors may not remount. 60% of the available marks will be allocated in this phase (40% of actual jumping and 20% style and way of going). Phase 2 - Ride. Phase 3 - Presence and conformation These phases will be judged as for hunter classes with 40% of the available marks allocated (ride 20%, conformation 20%). Working hunter horses can be shown in any bridle with a bit. The judge will take into consideration the effectiveness and severity of the bit and bridle. Front boots may only be used for phase one. Back boots are NOT Permitted in either the arena or warm up areas. In the event of a tie at the conclusion of judging, the horse gaining the greatest number of points in phase 1 shall be the winner. If there is still a tie, the points in phase 2 will decide, and if still tied, the points in phase 3 shall decide. If this still does not produce a winner the Judges' decision will be final. Riders to have attained their 16th birthday before 1st January in the current year. No change of rider or tack will be allowed, except the removal of front boots between phases 1 & 2. Correctly secured protective headgear conforming to the current safety standards must be worn at all times whilst mounted.
