All animals are required to be entered in the Coate's Herd Book Main, Supplementary or Grade B sections. To be red, white or roan in colour. The Shorthorn Society show regulations (latest) will apply to all exhibitors and exhibits in the Dairy Shorthorn section.

Exhibitors shall familiarise themselves with the various breed society rules which apply to their breed section as they relate to showing, particularly regards eligibility to enter, exhibitor bred status and show ring ethics.
